As a kid, Alissa would sneak books and a flashlight under her nightgown and escape into magical worlds while everyone else was asleep.  The moment she set foot on stage in her first musical, she knew she would never be the same.  She found her calling, telling stories, and would remain in constant pursuit of those moments when she felt most alive, like she was fulfilling her destiny. 

Traveling to Europe for the first time alone at 21 was another life changing time. Travel had awakened in her a new passion. She relished it, especially solo travel, where she could have a cup of tea with a local, and cry over a dish of overwhelmingly delicious truffle ravioli with no judgement. 

Anyone who knows Alissa knows she eats with gusto (as her father says) A square of dark chocolate could last 15 minutes, as she savors every bite and takes no meal for granted. Her appreciation for the preparation and enjoyment of food inspired her to pay even more attention, documenting and writing about her experiences. Starting to write led to more curiosity and down a path of discovery - the starving actress food blog. 

​Alissa loves to create, entertain and share her passions. She hopes to inspire those who might be afraid to take that leap into the unknown!  It’s not always pretty, but it beats never giving it a go!
